I am going to test out an app called iGrade for teachers. It is designed to help teachers collect and organize data. I have it set up and ready to go. I am hoping that it will be helpful as you can add voice notes and images of students work, along with grades.

Brownie Points

I was looking for a new way to reward my kids for a job well done and I saw "brownie points" on Pinterest. The kids are really excited and are motivated to fill up the "tray" of brownies. So far it's a hit!

Sensory Diet Toolkit

Here are some items I have gathered for one of my students to help him focus at school. It is a trial and error process to see what works, but it has made a huge difference is his ability to focus during instructional, independent and collaborative work times.

Jack Smythe Field Centre

I took my family to the Jack Smythe Field Centre over the March Break and it was a great experience.  I thought I would post some pictures to share some of the experiences that they have to offer.  We are taking our grade three students later this month, as an extension of our social studies unit on Aboriginals and Pioneers.

Things To Do:
-hike through the trails
-feed the chickadees
-roast hotdogs over a fire
-visit the sugar shack and learn how maple syrup is made
-tap a tree
-learn about pioneer children's chores
-play outdoor games
-visit a teepee
-and so much more!

Happy Valentine's Day

This year I made a special Valentine for each of my students. The kids loved it and thought is was great because they were able to chew gum at school. I saw the idea on Pinterest and decided to give it a shot. It was fun, creative and inexpensive. Take a look.
